Lash Care - Extended

Eyelash extensions are an effective way to accentuate your eyes without the need of applying mascara every day. They are used to enhance the length and curliness of your natural lashes without the extra hours spent creating the look yourself. Applying a full set of lashes usually takes about two hours, and when taken care of properly, lashes can last the average person up to four weeks without the need of touch-ups or “fills.” Here, There and Every Hair feels it is important that our clients get the most bang out of their blog. Feeling this way, we are releasing a second blog offering simple tips to assist you in getting the most of your eyelash extensions.

Oil Just Won’t Do

You can still wear eye-shadow with your eyelash extensions as long as you're careful when you're applying it. You want to be very gentle around your eyes and try not to touch the lashes too much. Any products you use near your eyes cannot be oil based. Otherwise, your lashes can fall off, as the oil effects the glue.

Time to Stay High and Dry

Within the first 8 hours of having your false lashes put on, you will need to keep your face dry. Once the adhesive has had time to cure, you can shower and cleanse your face normally.

If you are planning on taking a vacation down south or look good for an upcoming pool party; be sure to understand the environments in which the adhesive on your lashes will begin to lose its integrity. Unfortunately, chlorine has an adverse effect on eyelash extensions. If you have plans of going swimming, it is recommended to keep your head above water.

Alternatively, salt water does not effect eyelash extensions, so swimming in the ocean or a saltwater pool should not be an issue for your lashes.

Bigger isn’t Always Better

Your husband may agree, bigger isn’t always better. To keep your lashes lasting as long as possible, you want to make sure that your Eyelash Technician doesn't use false lashes that are more than 2 mm longer than your natural lash. Using lashes that are too long may also damage your natural lash and make them fall out. It may also hurt your natural eyelash if your Eyelash Technician glues the false lash to more than one natural lash. The choice of false eyelash used will depend on the strength and condition of your own eyelash. You should make sure to look at pictures of your Eyelash Technician's work before deciding on where to have your extensions done.

Another factor that will influence the life of your eyelash extensions is the weight. 0.05 and 0.07 are the most common weight for the Russian volume technique. They are light and allow for layering. They are also very natural looking. A more sizable lash such as 0.20 is useful for people who want a more dramatic look. However, the client will have to have already have extreme lashes to support this weight of false lash.

Ready for your Close Up?

You want to keep your eyelash extensions a secret between you and your Esthetician? Here There and Every Hair will send our Eyelash Technician to your home to apply realistic Mink Lashes. Mink Lashes are becoming the most popular lash of choice, as they are soft and natural looking. Mink Lashes are lightweight and are less shiny and flashy than other styles of lashes. With mink lashes, your friends and family will think you have natural and full eyelashes. The best part of the mink lashes, as they fall out, it will not be as noticeable, allowing the effect to last longer.
